Menditect Test Automation

We’re pleased to share that CAPE Digital Solutions is now an official Menditect Test Automation (MTA) reseller for Australia, New Zealand and the wider APAC region. It’s a natural next step for us. We’ve worked with MTA since Menditect’s earliest days in the Mendix ecosystem, and this partnership means we can now offer local organisations the full package: licensing, implementation, training and ongoing optimisation, all from our Sydney-based team.

Curious about how this partnership came about? Read our announcement: CAPE Digital Solutions Becomes Official Mendix Test Automation Reseller in ANZ.

On this page, we’ll walk you through what MTA is, show you the product in action, and explain why more Mendix teams are making test automation part of how they build.

CAPE - Mendix Expert Services

What is MTA?

Menditect Test Automation (MTA) is a no-code test automation tool built specifically for Mendix. Rather than writing separate test scripts in a different language or tool, MTA tests your Mendix app directly against its own model. This is what Menditect calls Direct Model Testing: MTA reads your Mendix model to define and run tests, so there’s no separate test codebase to maintain and no guessing about whether a failure is a bug in your app or a bug in your test.

MTA covers the full test pyramid in a single tool, from small unit and microflow tests through to component, process and end-to-end UI tests, including apps that span multiple Mendix microservices. Because it’s built inside Mendix, for Mendix, both developers and testers can pick it up quickly, without needing a background in traditional test automation frameworks.

What makes MTA different compared to generic testing tools?

Direct Model Testing

Tests run straight against your Mendix model, so there’s no separate test software layer to build or maintain.

Automatic consistency checking

MTA flags where a change to your app affects existing tests, often before you’ve even run them.

One tool, every test level

Unit, component, process, API and UI testing, all in the same environment.

Multi-app and microservice support

Test several Mendix apps and app versions together, matching the reality of your production landscape.

Local and cloud testing

Run tests on a developer’s machine as features are built, or against deployed environments.

Built by Mendix people, for Mendix people

MTA is developed and maintained by a team with a Mendix development background, and is continuously updated alongside the platform.

Why choose MTA?

Faster release cycles

Tests can be configured and run in a fraction of the time it takes to build and maintain traditional test scripts, so quality checks stop being the thing that slows a release down.

Lower maintenance overhead

Because MTA tests are checked automatically against your Mendix model, keeping test suites up to date after a model change takes minutes, not days.

Earlier defect detection

Issues get picked up during development rather than in acceptance testing or, worse, in production, which keeps rework costs down.

Reduced reliance on scarce specialists

MTA is designed for Mendix developers and testers, not dedicated test-automation engineers, so you’re not stuck waiting on niche skills that are hard to find in the local market.

One platform for every test level

No more juggling separate tools for unit, process and UI testing, which means less tooling overhead and a simpler landscape to manage.

Confidence at scale

Whether you run a single mission-critical app or a complex microservice landscape, MTA gives you a consistent way to know your apps still do what they’re supposed to, release after release.

A genuine return on investment

Customers who put test automation in place with MTA typically see the investment pay for itself through fewer defects, faster releases and less manual testing effort.

Ready for AI-assisted development

As Mendix development accelerates with AI, MTA keeps testing capacity in step, so speed doesn’t come at the cost of quality.

Why partner with CAPE for MTA

Plenty of organisations can sell you a licence. What we bring as an official MTA reseller is hands-on delivery experience.

Our team has been involved with MTA since Menditect entered the Mendix market in 2021, including leading Menditect’s first enterprise engagement and helping shape the product itself. That experience means we’re not just handing over access to a tool: we help you set up a test strategy that fits your application landscape, implement it properly the first time, and keep optimising it as your app portfolio grows.

As an ANZ and APAC based team, we can also support you in your own time zone, alongside our existing Mendix managed services and expert services, so test automation becomes one more part of a joined-up Mendix offering rather than another vendor to manage.
