2000
CAPE Consulting founded in Hellendoorn, the Netherlands.
CAPE Consulting was established in 2000 in the picturesque town of Hellendoorn. It began as a small consultancy firm, founded by a group of enthusiastic professionals passionate about improving business processes.
With their combined experience and expertise in various sectors, they aimed to help companies grow and innovate. CAPE Consulting quickly gained popularity for its personal approach and effective solutions, leading to steady growth and a solid reputation in the region. In 2002, CAPE Group was established alongside CAPE Consulting, and in 2004, Rob ter Brugge decided to buy out his co-founders to realize his mission and vision for CAPE.
2007
CAPE Consulting, one of the first Mendix partners.
CAPE supported its clients in the selection and implementation of software packages. Rob became convinced that he could create even more value for his clients by building innovative, customized solutions himself. With the founding of Mendix in 2006, this vision became a reality. The Rotterdam-based startup Mendix had built a platform that enabled CAPE’s (technical) business consultants to develop customized software themselves. CAPE therefore became one of the first Mendix partners in 2007.
2008
Relocation from Hellendoorn to Enschede!
In 2008, CAPE took a major step in its development by relocating from picturesque Hellendoorn to the modern Transport Center in Enschede.
This move was a strategic decision to be closer to its growing customer base and to take advantage of Enschede’s excellent infrastructure. Even more importantly, it was close to the University of Twente, a prime supplier of new CAPE employees. Furthermore, the new office offered more space and facilities, enabling the team to collaborate and innovate even more effectively.
The move marked a new chapter for CAPE Group, which was now better positioned to support companies in their growth and transformation.
2010
Launch of eMagiz
The launch of our integration platform, eMagiz, is a reality.
Now that CAPE could build custom applications itself, these naturally had to be integrated with existing (ERP) solutions from clients. Rob saw this challenge as an opportunity to develop an innovative new product: eMagiz was born!
eMagiz is the leading Dutch low-code iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service). A platform that allows all your applications and systems to communicate with each other easily, clearly, and digitally.
Since the founding of eMagiz in 2010, CAPE has been a proud business solution partner, and numerous standard connectors have been built and rolled out to dozens of clients in collaboration with eMagiz developers. 2022
CAPE opens first office in Sydney, Australia
With the opening of its first office in Sydney, CAPE took a significant international step. The choice of Australia was strategic: the region has strong demand for smart, data-driven solutions and offers ample opportunities for further growth. From Sydney, CAPE can more directly support clients in the APAC region and build new partnerships. This expansion marks a new chapter in CAPE’s international development and strengthens the company’s global presence.
2023
The passing of Rob ter Brugge
Far too young and still full of ambition, energy, and dreams, founder and CEO Rob ter Brugge passed away on June 17, 2023. Rob was not only the leader of our organizations but also a personal mentor, guide, and source of inspiration for many colleagues and clients.
Despite our intense grief, we all knew we had to get started right away. After all, you are not what happens to you, as Rob taught us. And from the outset, it was clear that there was no better way to honor Rob than to continue his work with optimism, determination, and boundless energy.

Our growth
Over the past few years, we have steadily built a strong customer base in Australia, working with organisations such as Beyond Blue, John Holland Group, Exchange for Change, and many others. This growth has also created exciting opportunities for our European colleagues to contribute their expertise locally, resulting in a team that has doubled in size over the past two years.
